Report: Australian Government In Talks With WWE To Run Major Stadium Show

WWE has multiple international events lined up for the next few months, and another could be on the way.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that the state government of Western Australia is negotiating with WWE to run a major stadium show, like when Melbourne previously twice landed a deal with the company. Meltzer noted that this show would likely be in Perth, which held the UFC 284 event at the RAC Arena in February.

WWE previously held Super Show-Down 2018 in Melbourne, Australia, with an announced attendance of 70,309 fans at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. As of this writing, it remains WWE’s only premium live event in Australia. The company has not run a show in Australia since 2019.

In 2023, WWE will hold multiple major events around the world; WWE Backlash and King and Queen have been confirmed for Puerto Rico and Saudi Arabia, respectively, in May. WWE will hold Money in the Bank at The O2 Arena in London, England, on July 1.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
