Cody Rhodes believes a conversation about his neck tattoo would be one of the first things he’d have to address with Dusty Rhodes today.
The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes was a recent guest on Out of Character with Ryan Satin to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked how he thinks his father Dusty Rhodes would respond to his neck tattoo, Cody believes it’d be addressed immediately.
“It would be right up there in one of the first discussions because it’s one of the first things he’s gonna see,” Cody Rhodes admitted. “I mean, the presentation of me today he’d need to see it in full. Like, I wouldn’t just want to walk up to him and give him a hug and start talking about the weather.
“I’d almost want him to see what an entrance of mine looks like today, so he could probably take it all in and understand that and they’re like, ‘Oh, the American Nightmare. Oh, I get it.’ I do think he’d probably think the tattoo is a little big. But you know, hey, with a wrestler’s kid. We do crazy things. It’s all good. I think he needs to see the full package, though, to understand.”
When asked what’s the first match or promo he’d like to show his daughter of Dusty Rhodes when she’s old enough to understand it, Cody admitted he hadn’t really thought about it yet.
“That’s a very good question. And shockingly, it’s not something I’ve necessarily thought of,” Cody Rhodes said. “I almost think I’d want her to watch the documentary coming up because then she could get it all. And if you know, that’s a little long-winded for a kid with an attention span. You know, the tiny kid attention span. They have to take maybe that YouTube deep dive, I’ll tell you what it won’t be, I wouldn’t do hard times.
“Hard times is its own thing. It’s not my favorite of the interviews that he ever did. I almost think it would maybe be Battleground and just that clip of him giving Dean Ambrose the bionic elbow. Just so she knew her pop her grandfather was pretty cool. A cool dude out there amongst all these young wrestlers and he was the one that got the place standing and feeling it. That he was special. I think I’d show her that clip perhaps.”
