Kofi Kingston has confirmed that he suffered a leg injury.
Kingston reportedly hurt his leg on the March 3 episode of WWE SmackDown. The WWE Champion seemingly confirmed the news in a tweet on March 5; in a tweet, he posted a clip in which his right foot and ankle can be seen bandaged up. Kingston wrote, “We gon’ be alright” in the tweet.
On the March 5 edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that the company is hopeful he’ll be able to avoid having surgery, as a procedure would force him to miss more ring time.
Kingston got involved in a brawl on the March 3 episode of WWE SmackDown. He is scheduled to compete in the five-way Intercontinental Championship on the March 10 episode of WWE SmackDown. The winner of the match will challenge Gunther for the WWE Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 39. As of this writing, Kingston is still advertised for the match.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
