Austin Theory wants to face John Cena at WrestleMania, and he teased that he has a surprise lined up for the former WWE Champion’s return to WWE RAW.
Cena will appear on the March 6 episode of the show, which will mark his first time on WWE V since he competed in a tag team match on the December 30 episode of WWE SmackDown.
Speaking with Alex McCarthy of Inside The Ropes, the WWE United States Champion was asked if he was a special surprise in store for Cena. He responded by stating that he’s going to show Cena plenty of respect
“Man, of course I do. I’m on Monday Night RAW, and we all know the history of John Cena and we know the work that he’s put in and how many Mondays he’s been there. I just want to show him all the respect that I can when I see him on Monday. So I’ll be the one to bring that to him.”
When asked about a match with Cena being a tangible possibility now, whereas it was something he once could only dream of, Theory noted that he has been on a “crazy” journey. He also teased that he hopes the match will happen, and he claimed that he’s up to him, depending on what he does when Cena comes to RAW on Monday.
“It’s a crazy journey when I think about it, having somebody like Cena that motivated me and inspired me, and having that possibility of facing him at WrestleMania, it’s like a dream come true,” Theory said. “Like I said man, it’s one of those things like, will it happen? I hope so, I really do. But I guess it all depends what I do Monday, huh? I guess it’s all up to me.”
WrestleZone will have coverage of WWE RAW as it airs on Monday.
