Tony Khan wonders why everyone at work is being nice to him.
In a tweet on January 6, the AEW president pointed out the recent development as he noted that his employees had been “so nice” to him in the past 24 hours, and he wondered why. He named belated holiday spirit as the cause before he hyped up Friday’s episode of AEW Rampage and live Battle of the Belts V special.
The timing of Khan’s tweet comes amid the news that former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon has officially returned to the company’s board of directors. On Thursday, the Wall Street Journal reported that McMahon was seeking to return and potentially explore a sale of WWE. McMahon subsequently announced in intention to return due to the company’s looming media rights negotiations. Needless to say, the situation has generated plenty of buzz in the wrestling world.
