Mercedes Varnado sends her gratitude.
The former Sasha Banks is all but set to debut at Wrestle Kingdom 17 on January 4. Ahead of the rumored debut, Varnado took to Twitter to post a series of tweets to thank WWE, William Regal, Triple H, Vince McMahon, and the WWE Universe. Lastly, she tweeted, “Thank you Sasha Banks” to seemingly indicate the end of her WWE character.

Varnado has made headlines for months after she and Naomi walked out of WWE in May over creative disputes regarding how WWE was booking them as WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. Throughout 2022, Varnado appeared on red carpets, walked runways, filmed her first movie, and helped launch a CBD brand alongside former WWE star Kalisto.
Reports emerged in December that Varnado was slated to be brought in to Japan for Wrestle Kingdom 17 as KAIRI will defend the IWGP Women’s Championship against Tam Nakano. Naomi is also in Tokyo, but it remains to be seen if she will appear on the pay-per-view.
