With his rapper persona and long record of disses, Max Caster has often drawn comparisons to former rapper, “The Doctor of Thuganomics,” John Cena.
“Platinum” Max is never one to shy away sparking reactions out of audiences, whether positively or negatively. While the comparisons to the 16-Time WWE Champion initially bothered Caster, he soon embraced them. In addition, Caster recently revealed he’s had contact with Cena, who also happens to be one of his heroes.
“John Cena is a huge inspiration,” he told the AJ Awesome Show. “I’ve never met him, but he reaches out to me from time to time. He’s been very, very nice and for my hero, as a teenager, to reach out to me and in the midst of people saying, ‘Oh, you’re a Cena ripoff. You’re just doing something that’s old. We don’t wanna see this in wrestling now.’ For him to reach out and say, ‘You’re doing it the right way.’ Sometimes he says I do it better than he did. It’s his opinion. I don’t know if I wanna agree with that, but I believe in myself 100 percent and his confidence in me only boosts me up. I don’t know if he knows how much that means, but it means a lot. So he’s my inspiration back then and now still.”
Max Caster, alongside Anthony Bowens, have risen to be one of the most popular tag teams today. In September 2022, they clutched the AEW Tag Team Championships. Together as The Acclaimed, the duo arrives to the ring with their gold, and often with a microphone in Caster’s hand. There, “Platinum” Max awakens, serving up some spicy zingers. Though entertaining most times, some of Caster’s disses have landed him in hot water.
Either way, Caster always produces some sort of reaction out of the All Elite Wrestling audience. His favorite raps, though, came at the expense of wrestling legends, namely Brian Danielson and Christian Cage.
