Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net previously reported that WWE was interested in Corino, who had been expected to travel to the WWE Performance Center once his NWA deal was up at the end of December 2022.
Corino had been frequently wrestling for NWA since June 2021. He recently competed at the company’s Hard Times 3 pay-per-view in December; there, he unsuccessfully challenged Davey Richards for the MLW National Openweight Championship. He has also wrestled for various companies on the independent scene, including Deadlock Pro-Wrestling, GCW, and Black Label Pro.
