Report: Details On Bronson Reed’s Return To WWE

More reported details about Bronson Reed‘s WWE return have come to light.

Reed signed with WWE in 2019 and rose to prominence in NXT, where he won the NXT North American Championship. The company released Reed in a wave of cuts in August 2021, and he went on to have a prominent run with IMPACT Wrestling. He also spent several months with NJPW, and he even beat Kazuchika Okada during the G1 Climax 32 tournament. Okada defeated Reed at the the Declaration of Power show on October 10, and the powerhouse had been absent from wrestling until he returned to WWE on the December 19 episode of WWE RAW.

Per Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, the company had been interested in bringing Reed back as early as August, as first reported by Andrew Zarian of Mat Men Radio. But the two sides didn’t reach an agreement, so Reed continued to compete for NJPW until October. Sapp cited sources who indicated that NJPW wanted to keep Reed. However, Sapp stated that Reed was a “priority hire” for Triple H once he rose to power in the aftermath of Vince McMahon’s retirement.

As for Reed’s contract status, Sapp confirmed that the former NXT star has signed a contract, so he is finished with NJPW unless WWE makes a deal that would allow him to return.
