WWE has reportedly expressed interest in bringing Chelsea Green back.
Green previously signed with WWE in 2018. She competed on the NXT brand, but she broke her wrist twice during her time with the company. Green participated in the 2020 Women’s Royal Rumble Match, and she was called up to the main roster later that year; she debuted on the November 13 episode of WWE SmackDown, but she broke her wrist during the match. WWE released Green in a wave of cuts in April 2021. Since then, she has competed for ROH, NWA, and IMPACT Wrestling, among other promotions.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that WWE has discussed bringing Green back, among other names, though there’s no word of an official deal. PWInsider and WrestleVotes originally reported the news about WWE’s interest in Green.
Sapp cited sources who noted that WWE is aiming to load up the women’s division with TV-ready wrestlers. Emma returned to the company recently, and Fightful has reported that the company has interest in both Mia Yim and Tegan Nox.
Per Sapp, Green responded to Fightful by claiming that she hasn’t been contacted for a return, and she has bookings scheduled into March 2023.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
