Ultimo Dragon is returning to the United States and he has one major opponent in mind.
A wrestling legend in his own right, Ultimo Dragon recently participated in an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated ahead of his 55-year-old’s return to wrestling in the United States. During the interview, Dragon stated that he would love to compete against Chris Jericho one more time if given the chance.
“I am honestly not very familiar with AEW,” Dragon revealed. “But if I have the opportunity, I would really like to participate in one of their shows and end my rivalry with Jericho.”
In WCW, Ultimo Dragon and Chris Jericho shared the ring at least five times on television while feuding over the WCW World Cruiserweight Championship. Jericho retained the Cruiserweight title during their last match in July 1998 on an episode of WCW Thunder.
Years later, Ultimo Dragon spent less than a year in WWE and even competed in a Cruiserweight Championship match at WrestleMania 20. When asked if he’d be interested in a WWE return, he stated, “A lot of people always tell me [I should go back with Levesque in charge], but to me, it was an honor to work under McMahon. Even though he did not give me many opportunities, I learned a lot backstage about the business. I am too old to work for the WWE now.”
