AEW Dynamite Results (10/18): Four Title Matches

All Elite Wrestling will deliver a loaded episode of AEW Dynamite on October 18.

The show will air on Tuesday night, rather than Wednesday, due to coverage of the playoffs, and it will feature four title matches. Jon Moxley will defend the AEW World Championship against Hangman Page, and Toni Storm will put the AEW Interim Women’s World Championship on the line against Hikaru Shida.

The results are as follows:

AEW World Trios Championship: Death Triangle (PAC, Penta, and Rey Fenix) vs. Best Friends (Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta) and Orange Cassidy

Beretta takes the fight to PAC. Death Triangle gains the upper hand. Fenix dives onto Taylor with a springboard. Beretta slams Fenix to the mat. The challengers try to triple-team Fenix, but Death Triangle breaks it up. The champions dive onto their opponents. PAC grounds Cassidy, and the champions gang up on “Freshly Squeezed”. The Best Friends take control, but everyone is down after a double powerbomb/superplex. PAC kicks Cassidy, who rallies with a Stun-dog Millionaire. Fenix takes Taylor down with an arm drag. Beretta hits a rope-assisted tornado DDT. PAC floors Cassidy with a kick while the Lucha Brothers hold him in place. Death Triangle triple-teams Cassidy. PAC gets a two count with a German suplex. Taylor drops Penta with a piledriver, and Beretta hits him with one, too. The Best Friends hug Cassidy. Cassidy gets a two count with a splash on Penta.

PAC gets the ring bell, but Fenix stops him. He takes the hammer and leaves the ring. Cassidy capitalizes and rolls PAC up for a two count. Both men are down after an Orange Punch. Penta atgs in, but Beretta counters a Destroyer and gets a near fall with the Strong Zero. Fenix takes the Best Friends down with a double cutter. He slams Beretta to the mat for the win.

A video package hypes up the world title match between Jon Moxley and Hangman Page.

In an interview, Britt Baker, alongside Jamie Hayter and Rebel, says she’s disgusted that she’s not the Interim Women’s World Champion. Baker and Hayter say that one of them will be the rye champion by the end of the year.

AEW Interim Women’s World Championship: Toni Storm (c) vs. Hikaru Shida

The two women shake hands. They feel each other out, and Shida gains the upper hand. Storm sends her to the outside with a hip attack. The champion takes control and grounds Shida. The challenger rallies with a hurricanrana. They trade blows, and Shida gains momentum with a kick to the head. The challenger hits a Meteora and slams Storm for a two count. Storm dumps Shida on her head with a release German suplex. She hits a hip attack in the corner. Shida gets a two count with a modified suplex. Storm gets the win with the Storm Zero.

Winner and still AEW Interim Women’s World Champion: Toni Storm

Jamie Hayter and Rebel attack Storm after the match. Britt Baker comes to the ring, wearing a Steelers jersey. Saraya comes down the ramp and attacks Baker. They brawl, and Riho comes to the ring. She takes Rebel down and sends Hayter to the outside. Riho dives onto Hayter at ringside.

In a promo, WardJoe (Wardlow and Samoa Joe) discuss their feud with The Kingdom and The Embassy. They vow to teach The Kingdom a lesson. Joe says they picked the wrong people to mess with.

Rene Paquette interviews FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood), and they make it clear that they intend to win the AEW World Tag Team Championship. Swerve in Our Glory (Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland), and Strickland says they’re the rightful contenders. Lee says they deserve a shot. Harwood challenges them to a #1 Contender’s Match for next week.

Backstage, Jay Lethal challenges Darby Allin to a rematch and says he can beat him any time he wants. Allin says he’d beat Lethal again. Sonjay Dutt says they know Allin’s weakness, and a friend of theirs told them about it. Allin shoves them, and they beat him up. Lethal slams Allin into a garage door, and Dutt lowers the door on Allin’s stomach, crushing his abdomen in the process. Lethal traps Allin in the Figure-Four until officials break them.

In-Ring Interview: William Regal

MJF interrupts before Regal can say anything. He says he’s not there to fight, he’s there to talk. MJF has a story to tell and says Regal owes him that. He recalls how his trainers pulled him aside when he was 19, and they told him they got him extra work with WWE. MJF says he went to the show, and Regal spoke to him and the group of extras. He noted that they had tryout matches in front of Regal and other coaches. MJF says he was fighting for a contract, and he was fighting for his life because wrestling is his life. He says he won the match, and Regal told him to follow him. MJF recalls how Regal pulled him into a separate room and told him to sell himself. Regal then told MJF he’d get him a job. But then he told MJF that he was too young. MJF described how Regal told him he’d “put his name” on him once he was old enough. MJF says Regal told him to send him his matches, and he did. He says Regal sent him a promo he has read every day since. He says Regal told him to make a name for himself, and he needed to become one of the best athletes in the world to get to WWE.

MJF says Regal’s email made him want to quit and it made him want to kill himself. He says, now, Regal is just a man who got fired, and he’s snuck into MJF’s company. As for MJF, he’s a generational talent, and Regal’s former employers would take lives just to get him to sign a contract. MJF says now he reads that same email every day to get a laugh because Regal is a joke. MJF says he’s going to win the world title.

Regal responds and notes he worked at a carnival when he was 16 to break into the industry. He says he saw a megastar in MJF, and he wanted to light a fire under MJF. Regal says that if that email is what it took MJF to get to this point, he had it easy. He tells MJF that he needs to practice because he knows he’s a great talent. Regal says he’s an “ordinary decent villain”, but you’d never put a hand on someone like Tony Schiavone. He says MJF let him down because he took shortcuts. Regal says MJF hasn’t proven himself yet because he hires people to do his dirty work, and he uses his ring to knock people out. He tells MJF not to take shortcuts. Regal tells MJF to beat everyone standing in front of him. He says MJF can show the world he’s the devil right now. He turns his back, and MJF puts his ring on, and he reluctantly walks away. Regal says MJF still has a lot to prove.

The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens and Max Caster) are backstage with Renee Paquette. Bowens says they’re going to face the Varsity Athletes (Josh Woods and Tony Nese) in a Titles vs. Trademarks match on Friday, and when they win, they’ll go back to scissoring.

Sit-down Interview: Bryan Danielson and Wheeler Yuta

Danielson discusses his loss to Chris Jericho and says it wasn’t “ideal.” He comments on Daniel Garcia’s betrayal and notes he has high hopes for Garcia. He says he thinks Garcia could be the best wrestler we’ve ever seen, with the right guidance. Yuta fires back and wonders how Danielson didn’t see Garcia’s actions coming. He calls Garcia a snake. Yuta says he thought bleeding for the BCC meant something, but apparently it doesn’t mean anything to Danielson.

ROH World Championship: Chris Jericho (c) (with Jake Hager) vs. Dalton Castle (with The Boys)

Jericho extends a handshake, but Castle flips him off. Castle hits a shoulder block and slams Jericho with a hip toss. Jericho sends Castle to the outside, and The Boys fan him. Castle takes control with some suplexes. He throws one of the Boys onto Hager and follows suit with the other. Castle maintains the advantage. Jericho fires up and suplexes Castle. He clotheslines the challenger in the corner and grounds him. Castle rallies with some strikes, but Jericho sends him tumbling to the outside. Castle dropkicks Jericho and gains momentum. He dives onto Jericho at ringside. The Boys gang up on Hager at ringside. Jericho and Castle are down after a double crossbody. One of the Boys takes Hager’s hat, and he takes them out. He attacks the Boys. Jericho rolls Castle up for a two count. Castle locks Jericho in a sleeper hold. Jericho escapes and locks Castle in the Walls. Jericho gets in referee Aubrey Edwards’ face and bumps her, and she bumps him back.

Jericho and Castle trade strikes. Castle gets a two count with a suplex. Castle hits the Bang-a-Rang for a near fall. Jericho nails the Judas Effect for the win.

Winner and still ROH World Champion: Chris Jericho

Jericho celebrates with the Jericho Appreciation Society. He vows to desegrate the legacy of ROH. He moves to attack Ian Riccaboni at the commentary table. Jerry Lynn stops him, and Jericho drops him with a piledriver on the title.

Christian Cage, alongside Luchasaurus, discusses his feud with Jungle Boy. He says reality will slap Jungle Boy in the face.

Backstage, Jade Cargill gets upset when Leila Grey and Kiera Hogan show up without the TBS Championship. She says she will hijack AEW Rampage on Friday if she doesn’t get her title back.

AEW World Champion: Jon Moxley (c) vs. Hangman Page

Moxley enters through the crowd, and Page stalks him down to begin the fight. Page dives off a balcony with a moonsault and gains the early advantage. The two stars brawl around the ring, and Moxley takes control. Page fires back by slamming Moxley into the steel steps. The champion is bleeding, and Page keeps up the attack. In the ring, Page suplexes Moxley, refusing to let up. Moxley dares him to bring it. The champion locks in a Figure-Four, and Page gouges his wound to escape. Page chops Moxley, but the blows only fire Mox up. He drills Page with some strikes. Hangman sends Moxley into the turnbuckle in the corner. Page hits a Fallaway Slam. Moxley drops him with a cutter. Moxley takes Page down with a superplex. He locks in a an arm-bar, but Page escapes. Hangman floors Moxley with a Deadeye on the apron.

Page locks in a Boston Crab, but Moxley escapes and locks in a choke until Hangman reaches the ropes. They keep brawling, and Page lands badly on a clothesline as he lands on his head. The referee calls for the bell, as per the orders of the ringside physician.

Officials check on Page. The broadcast team runs through the lineups for the next episodes of AEW Rampage and Dynamite. Moxley wishes Page well and says this is a dangerous game, so you need to have guts to play it. Moxley brings up MJF and dares him to cash in his title shot. MJF comes to the ring with his chip, alongside a referee. The match is seemingly set to begin, but MJF leaves the ring. He gets a microphone and says he wants Moxley to be 100% when he uses his title shot. He says he doesn’t want there to be any doubt when he beats Moxley. MJF announces that he’ll cash in the title shot at Full Gear, and for the first time in his life, he’s going to earn it.

Moxley responds by vowing to inflict plenty of pain on MJF when they clash.
