WWE is reportedly planning on making a major change to Legado del Fantasma.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that there is an internal push to pair Zelina Vega with Legado Del Fantasma, with Vega possibly replacing Elektra Lopez. Throughout the group’s time in WWE NXT, Lopez was a featured member, and she exited the brand with her stablemates after Santos Escobar lost a Loser Leaves NXT match to Tony D’Angelo. The faction rode away in Escobar’s car on the August 23 episode of NXT.
Per Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Vega was seen at the Boston Airport ahead of SmackDown, and she’s “written into” the broadcast. She has been sidelined since she had surgery in May; she last wrestled on the April 11 episode of WWE RAW.
Likewise, Johnson also reported that the initial plan to include Lopez with Legado del Fantasma on SmackDown have been dropped. She was initially set to be at the show on Friday, but the creative changed, and she is not in Boston ahead of the show. Johnson noted that she is not expected to be part of the group moving forward.
PWInsider previously reported that Escobar, Wilde, and Mendoza have been spotted in Massachusetts, and the belief is that they will debut as soon as Friday’s episode of SmackDown.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
