UFC legend Daniel Cormier will be in Philadelphia next weekend to serve as the special guest referee for the Fight Pit match between Matt Riddle and Seth Rollins at WWE Extreme Rules.
Ariel Helwani first announced the news on Twitter. In a separate statement, Cormier said “The Rollins-Riddle feud has gotten very intense and personal. There’s only one person qualified enough to oversee this brutal match at Extreme Rules and it’s me. I’ll see you guys in Philly next Saturday.”
WWE would confirm the news themselves later while saying that more information would be provided on Monday during RAW. Cormier is known for being a longtime WWE fan and it is unknown at this time if the appearance will be a one-time deal or if something else with Cormier is in the works.
Daniel Cormier is a UFC Hall of Famer and a pivotal part of their commentary team during big PPV’s. He is a former Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight champion.
