Jordynne Grace is happy to see talent like Allie Katch getting a chance to impress on a big stage.
Allie Katch made her IMPACT Wrestling debut as the opponent for Masha Slamovich in a Monster’s Ball match on September 29. Allie, a GCW standout, is one of many new faces that have appeared on IMPACT programming in recent weeks, joining Max The Impaler and Shane Taylor on that list.
During a recent interview with WrestleZone, Jordynne Grace said she’s happy to see new names getting chances like that, noting how Allie main-eventing her first television match is a big opportunity.
“I think it’s awesome. I love it. And I especially think especially with Allie, because GCW is just so hot right now, Like fans want to see wrestlers get their due,” Grace said. “I think Allie being in her first-ever television match in the main event is a really, really big deal.
“It’s kind of funny to me because she’s a good friend of mine and we were texting kind of before the show, and she was telling me she was nervous because every single time that we’ve ever done like backstage work, because we did backstage work for like WWE,” Grace explained, “we were extras and she was like, ‘Well, it’s different because I’m not an extra now. It’s like the main event of the show.’ It’s very different. So I was very happy for her to finally be getting something like that on such a grand stage.”
Grace recently said that she felt like she’ll always be part of the wrestling business whether it’s as a wrestler or otherwise. Asked if she has had any serious thoughts about booking an event, she said it’s not something she’s thinking about as an active wrestler.
“I’m not thinking that far ahead, to be honest with you. I’m kind of taking it day by day. I would like to be able to wrestle in ring as long as possible, but maybe in the next few years I start thinking about that. I did help with the TERMINUS shows, in terms of the backstage stuff, and it’s very chaotic and hectic and stressful,” she noted. “So I know if I did do something like that, I absolutely would not want to be wrestling on the card.”
Jordynne Grace will defend her IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Championship against Masha Slamovich at Bound For Glory on October 7.
