WWE SmackDown Viewership Drops Slightly On 8/26, Demo Rating Increases

WWE SmackDown dipped below two million viewers on August 26, but the demographic rating increased.

According to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, 1.990 million viewers tuned in on Friday night. This number is down from last week, when 2.084 million viewers watched the show on Friday. Thurston also pointed out that, for the third week in a row, SmackDown was preempted in some coverage of the NFL preseason.

In the 18 to 49 demographic, SmackDown scored a 0.48 rating, which is slightly up from last week (0.47 rating). Thurston noted that SmackDown ranked #1 in the demographic on Friday night.

This week‘s episode featured a main-event clash between Drew McIntyre and Sami Zayn. Plus, Ricochet battled Drew McIntyre, and the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament continued. Elsewhere on the show, The New Day returned and brawled with the Viking Raiders.
