Alexa Bliss Teases Future Character Variation: ‘There Is A Version Of Me That I’m Dying To Get To’

Alexa Bliss has undergone many incarnations throughout her WWE tenure, and she has another evolution in mind.

Bliss first introduced herself on NXT as a glittery-fairy type character in 2014. There, she would blow glitter into the audience, often adorning a sparkly gear to coordinate her entrance. The next year, Alexa turned heel, transforming into the meaner, more aggressive “Five Feet Of Fury” alongside Buddy Murphy & Wesley Blake. Bliss maintained that same attitude amidst her main roster call up in 2016, but morphed into “The Goddess”, as she went on to capture five WWE Women’s Championships in the next two years. Alexa went on to transform into a more “Twisted” character, after turning her back on tag team partner, Nikki Cross.

Bliss would then join forces with “The Fiend”. Accordingly, she displayed darker eye makeup, black ring-gear, and sadistic mannerisms. Bliss’ alliance with Bray Wyatt would blur with the introduction of another version of herself: Alexa’s Playground. There, Alexa Bliss reverted to a more child-like, yet creepy variation. She even gained a new friend, Lilly The Doll. This new child-like version seemed to serve as the counterpart to Bliss’ on-screen split personality. Alexa Bliss has since undergone on-screen therapy, and deemed “healed” earlier this year before returning to Monday Night RAW earlier this Spring.

Lilly the Doll still accompanies Bliss to the ring, but this current variation may be the closest we’ve ever seen to the real life Alexa Bliss. “Right now, it’s just me,” Bliss declared when speaking with The Ringer Wrestling Show.

Alexa Bliss is amidst the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament, heading into a semi-finals bout this Monday on RAW. Despite the popularity and traction Bliss has maintained since her return though, Bliss wants more for her character. In fact, she seemingly has some ideas too.

“There is a version of me that I’m dying to get to,” Bliss revealed. “It just hasn’t gotten there yet.”

“I saw this collage [on Twitter]. It was all the different characters that I’ve ever been in WWE. I was like ‘Man, I’ve been nine different people.’ If you really look at it, from my start to now, there’s been like nine different variations of how I look, how I act, how I speak. Right now, it’s just me.”

“So, there’s been something I’ve been working on for quite a while, that I really want to get out there,” she explained. “It’s just finding the right time, what the roster needs right now. It’s all about timing. So for right now, it’s kind of just me out there doing my thing with Asuka–which is a lot of fun. But like I always say, Lexi [her real name] is not for TV, I’m boring as a person. I feel like on TV right now I’m boring. So, I’m trying to really regroup and reorganize things and get to where I want to be character wise.”
