Brian Myers: I’ve Been Really Fortunate With IMPACT Wrestling, I’m In A Good Place

While in his 18th year in the business, Brian Myers feels like he’s having the best time of his career in IMPACT Wrestling.

IMPACT Wrestling Digital Media Champion Brian Myers took part in a media scrum at Starrcast V to answer a variety of questions. When asked about what he wants to do in the wrestling business that he hasn’t gotten to do yet, Myers made it a point to say how much fun he’s having right now with IMPACT Wrestling.

“I’m having the best time of my career. I’ve been given these opportunities in IMPACT to show a side of myself that I’ve been wanting to do for years,” Brian Myers said. “I’m in my 18th year of doing that, so I’m a polished pro wrestler at this point. And wrestling is all about opportunity.

“You could be the best wrestler in the world, but if no one’s giving you opportunities to showcase that, it’s pointless. So I’ve been really fortunate with IMPACT Wrestling, and I’m having a great time and doing indies here and there and being very busy with the Major Wrestling Figure Podcast. So I’m just in a really good place. I’m so happy about my career right now. And I get to spend time with girls at home and my family. I’m a happy dude.”

When asked about advice he would give to today’s young and upcoming wrestlers, Myers wants them to know that there’s no one right way to do things and that you have to put in the work.

“There is no this is how you do it, everybody’s got to put in the work and the time and the reps and there’s so much things about wrestling like wrestling is truly an art,” Brian Myers said. “I can show you how to do a suplex, right? And that’s just one physical thing, but it’s like feeling it and believing it. Putting in the time, I tell guys all the time that they’re not become a big famous pro wrestler by not leaving your town that they’re staying in.

“You gotta get in the car, and you’ve got to drive six hours and maybe set up some chairs in hopes that maybe there’s something to do on the show. You got to really do the grunt work to get in there. And a lot of my guys did that, you wouldn’t know it from his character, but MJF, he’s someone who did that. He put in that grunt work, that shitty stuff that nobody wants to do, and he did to get a little break here, and a little break here, and those little breaks add up to a big break where he’s at now.”
