Bobby Lashley says Theory has nuts.
At WWE SummerSlam, Lashley defeated Theory to retain the WWE United States Championship. In doing so, he foiled the young star’s plan to win the gold before he cashed in his Money in the Bank contract to capture a world title.
In a WWE Digital Exclusive after the title match, Lashley noted that he wants to teach Theory a lesson in respect, but he stated that he respects how he has “a set of nuts.”
“You know, it was time where you gotta teach this kid a lesson, a lesson of respect, and that’s what my whole goal was,” said Lashley. “I didn’t want to beat him up or hurt him because he has another possible cash-in tonight, and I wish him the best of luck with it. The kid’s got a set of nuts on him, so you gotta give it to him.
“He’s going against all of the biggest dogs in the business right now, myself, Drew, Roman, Brock, he’s stepping up against everybody, so you gotta understand, that’s what the kid is trying to do. He’s trying to make a name for himself, so I respect that. But at the same time, he has to learn a lesson of respect, and that’s what I’m trying to give him.”
When asked whether he thinks Theory learned his lesson, the champion shared his belief that he’ll keep running his mouth, and someone will have to shut him up again.
“No, he’s just gonna keep running his mouth, and every once in a while, you gotta shut him up,” said Lashley. “You just keep shutting him up, he’s gonna keep coming back, but eventually he’ll learn, and he’ll get it.”
Theory seemingly intended to cash in his contract during the SummerSlam main event between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns, but “The Beast Incarnate” laid him out before he could.
