Mark Calaway, also known as The Undertaker, is confident that Stephanie McMahon can help WWE weather the storm.
Stephanie was pressed into duty after her father, former WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon, voluntarily stepped back from his duties due to an ongoing investigation surrounding his alleged misconduct. Among other issues, the WWE Board of Directors is looking into a “hush pact” he reached with a former employee he allegedly had an affair with. This controversy has sent shockwaves throughout the wrestling world, but the former Undertaker believes Stephanie is the right person for the job, despite the circumstances.
In an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Calaway stated that Stephanie is “incredible” and she’s exactly what WWE needs right now.
“Stephanie is incredible, and she’s going to show that in this new role,” Calaway said. “She is level-headed, she sees the whole picture. Her steady, calm hand is exactly what is needed. There’s not a selfish bone in her body, but she’s all about business. She’s the right person for the job. I have 100% confidence about what Stephanie McMahon will do for the company.”
Calaway has known Stephanie for a long time; he was a member of the WWE roster for 30 years before he retired in 2020. His friendship with Vince McMahon is also well-documented.
