Many fans have been hoping to see Andrade El Idolo mix it up with some of New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s top stars at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, but it seems like Andrade won’t be involved in any of these interpromotional matches anytime soon.
In a tweet on June 13, Andrade bluntly stated that he can’t work with NJPW, and he wrote, “Thanks CMLL and AAA.”

AAA booker Konnan responded by saying, “We have nothing to do with NJ. or CMLL arcane decisions.”

Andrade regularly competed for NJPW from 2010-2015, while he was still working for CMLL, as part of the working agreement between the two promotions; he is a former IWPG Intercontinental Champion. He has also wrestled twice AAA since 2021; most recently, he was in action at AAA TripleMania XXX: Monterrey.
Andrade returned to AEW TV on the June 8 episode of AEW Dynamite as The Joker entrant in the Casino Battle Royale.
