The match for the Interim AEW World Championship at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door has been confirmed.
At NJPW Dominion, Hiroshi Tanahashi clinched his spot in the bout by defeating Hirooki Goto. As a result, he will face Jon Moxley for the interim title at the supershow on June 26.
On the June 1 episode of AEW Dynamite, Tanahashi confronted AEW World Champion CM Punk to seemingly set up their match for Forbidden Door, but Punk had to have surgery, so AEW instead booked the Eliminator series for the Interim AEW World Championship.
