Back in the mid-1990s, Paul Heyman helped bring Lucha Libre to the United States through Extreme Championship Wrestling. Names like Rey Mysterio, Juventud Guerrera, and Psychosis brought Lucha Libre, in an extreme style, to the United States and they would all parlay their time in ECW the full-time careers with WCW and eventually, the WWE.
