Jurassic Express will defend the AEW World Tag Team Championship at AEW Double or Nothing.
The champions, Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus, have been feuding with Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs in recent weeks. The Team Taz duo stepped up when Jurassic Express issued an open challenge for a shot at the gold, and Jungle Boy told him that he wanted to challenge for Starks’ FTW Championship first. When they faced off on the May 11 episode of AEW Dynamite, Swerve Strickland, who has also been engaged in a heated rivalry with Team Taz, accidentally cost Jungle Boy the match.
On the May 18 episode of AEW Dynamite, Strickland and his tag team partner Keith Lee, defeated the WorkHorsemen. After the match, they started to say that they wanted to challenge for the titles before Hobbs and Starks interrupted them. “The Stroke Daddy” made it clear that he and Hobbs were more deserving, but Swerve fired back by making fun of the way he dressed. Jurassic Express joined the party and threw down the gauntlet for a three-way clash between the teams at AEW Double or Nothing.
