Hikaru Shida has been removed from The Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament due to injury, but the former AEW Women’s World Champion pointed out that she has remained active since the bout where she apparently got hurt.
Shida has been scheduled to face Red Velvet in the first round, but on the May 13 episode of AEW Rampage, Tony Schiavone announced that, due to an injury she suffered during a Philly Street Fight against Serena Deeb, she would be unable to compete in the quarterfinal contest.
After the announcement, Shida commented on the news in a tweet; she first wrote, “What?” She then stated that she has already wrestled in four matches since she faced Deeb. Shida also made it clear that she’s glad her replacement, Kris Statlander, will have the chance to chase greatness in the tournament. Additionally, she noted that she’s happy she gets to have some vacation time.
Well…. I already had 4 matches after the street fight and just finished the greatest fighting musical show.
But I seem to have been injured…
