Malakai Black names several young superstars in AEW that he wants to work against, including the Concrete Rose.
AEW is known for having a very young roster and promoting what will hopefully be the future of wrestling. Malakai Black is one of the veterans who has television experience with WWE and is looking forward to mentoring young talent and helping them expand their characters and their stories.
Speaking on the Universal Wrestling Podcast, Malakai named Sonny Kiss as one of the competitors he wants to hopefully work with one day.
“I just look a lot at their younger guys, that I know that I can do a lot with and like, some of them, you might not realize, because not everybody looks at us in the way I do. But sometimes I just see potential and I’m like, if I focus on there’s one thing with this person, that I know that I can, you know, bring it out. And one of those people is also like, someone like Sonny, you know, who, athletically is so gifted, but she has a different platform and she’s viewed as different. But I know that I can change the tide if we do certain things with certain aspects, or certain perspectives, or a certain program, but I know that I can give a different dimension to an individual, they can build on right because sometimes it starts this small and they can grow from it and they can create something from it.”
Malakai also named The Acclaimed as a team he would like to work against. Along with names like Swerve, Keith Lee, and Darby Allin.
“Myself against Hangman at some point relatively soon, but I’ve never tangled with Keith Lee, that’d be cool,” he said. “Swerve, one of the kids that I have mentored for a very long time. I still do to this day. Darby, there’s all these really intriguing little matches and stories that we can create with a guy like him because he’s very similar, in his mindset to me. He’s different. Then, throw it back to you guys like The Hardys, myself and Brody against The Hardys is something I would love but also The Butcher and The Blade, there’s so much to do there, and we haven’t even scratched the surface, like not even close scratching the surface.”
Malakai also talked about wanting to work with Darius Martin, but revealed that Darius was recently in a car accident that will see him out for anywhere from six to nine months. Learn more here.
