Billy Corgan is known for appreciating the rich history of the National Wrestling Alliance, and the promotion could bring back some more retired titles soon.
The NWA recently brought the World Junior Heavyweight Championship, which hadn’t been active since 2017. Homicide won the vacant gold at Crockett Cup, and he will defend it at NWA PowerrrTrip 2 against Colby Corino on April 30.
During an appearance on 1059 The Rock, Corgan explained that the NWA is “talking about” restoring the USA Tag Team Championship and creating a Women’s Television Championship.
“We brought back this historic belt with a 225 weight limit, which is interesting because that’s sort of a tougher cruiserweight style than kind of what’s currently out there,” said Corgan. “We’re talking about bringing back the USA tag belts. And then as well maybe to do for the first time a Women’s Television title.”

Like the World Junior Heavyweight Championship, the NWA USA Tag Team Titles haven’t been utilized since 2017. In the women’s division, Kamille holds the NWA World Women’s Championship. The Hex (Allysin Kay and Marti Belle) are the reigning Women’s Tag Team Champions.
