Adam Cole aims to be the “King of Harts” Bay Bay after he underhandedly defeated Tomohiro Ishii with the help of Jay White.
It was revealed on the 4/20 edition of AEW Dynamite that Cole would be battling Ishii on the April 22 episode of AEW Rampage in a qualifying match for the Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament. Ishii had Orange Cassidy in his corner as the two fighters tore the house down. Cole ended up getting the better of Ishii after White ran down to the ring and took out Rocky Romero. This distraction allowed Cole to low-blow Ishii and hit the Boom on the NJPW star in order to get the win.
With the victory, Cole joins Kyle O’Reilly and Samoa Joe in the bracket.
