EJ Nduka chose a name for his son that has a very special meaning.
Nduka spoke with the media ahead of MLW Intimidation Games in Dallas, and he was asked about the potential for his newborn son, Exodus, possibly being involved in the wrestling business when he is old enough to pursue a career.
“I’m going to let him do whatever he wants. I’m going to lead him to the well, but I’m not going to force him to drink from it. Whatever he wants to do, whether it’s sports, play sports,” Nduka said. “If it’s music, do music. He wants to paint, paint. Whatever Exodus wants to do, his dad is behind him… although I would like him to be an athlete [laughs]”
Nduka then explained that his son’s name was not only chosen because of its biblical ties, but he also wanted to use the name for himself as a wrestler.
“Biblical. Exodus means mass movement, leader of the mass movement, so that’s why I named him that.
Exodus is the book in the Bible where Moses freed the people and parted the Red Seas,” Nduka said, before someone noted that it also makes a great wrestling name.
“Honestly, before he was even born, I wanted my name to be ‘Exodus Judge’. They didn’t let me have it, and I’m not saying who ‘they’ is, but I ended up being something else,” he stated. “It was a phenomenal name and I said, ‘Exodus, guess what? This is your name.’”
Prior to his arrival in MLW, Nduka was known as “Ezra Judge” in WWE. Nduka signed with WWE in 2019, but ended up being released in May 2021. He signed with MLW a month later, and recently won the MLW World Tag Team Championship with Calvin Tankman.
