Matt Sydal hasn’t been seen on AEW programming in recent weeks and it’s for good reason. Sydal took to social media on his birthday to tell fans that he has been dealing with a few injuries, but provides some positive news regarding them.
“A brief update,” Matt Tweeted after thanking fans for the birthday love. “I dislocated my knee a few weeks back which is why I haven’t been active in AEW. In good news, there were no tears in my ACL or PCL. Gonna do some meditating then BRB better than ever.”

We last prominently saw Sydal in the role of mentor for Lee Moriarity as a heelish Bryan Danielson was confronted by the two. That later led to a match between Danielson and Moriarity.
