Carmella recently said that she would be willing to defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships at WWE WrestleMania 38, and now she’s gotten her wish.
As announced during tonight’s episode of WWE Raw, Carmella and Queen Zelina will face off against Sasha Banks and Naomi for the championships on the biggest stage. The moment came after the latter duo joined forces during the February 25 episode of WWE SmackDown and issued a challenge to the champions.
Vega and Carmella accepted the challenge on Monday, so the title bout was subsequently confirmed for WrestleMania. They have held the titles since the November 22 episode of WWE RAW; there, the duo defeated Nikki A.S.H. and Rhea Ripley to win the gold. Banks has previously held the championship twice with Bayley; the two women became the inaugural champions at WWE Elimination Chamber 2019.
