PWInsider is reporting that the original plan within WWE was for The Undertaker to make a physical appearance at Elimination Chamber in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia over the weekend.
The plans were for Undertaker to make a non-wrestling appearance after the announcement about his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame. There was no specific angle planned other than a cameo appearance which was scrapped for unknown reasons.
The Undertaker did not end up traveling with the company overseas after WWE decided to nix the idea. Instead, a lengthy video package was shown highlighting his career for both the live crowd and the audience at home.
There was a loud pop overheard in the stadium as Undertaker’s music hit before the video package likely because the live crowd thought that Undertaker was coming out.
Undertaker is scheduled to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on Friday, April 1 in Dallas, TX. Tickets for the event, which includes access to see SmackDown, go on sale this Tuesday. No other announcements have been made as far as who else, if anyone, will be inducted that night.
