Hangman Page will officially defend the AEW World Championship at AEW Revolution.
On the February 18 episode of AEW Rampage, the company announced that Adam Cole will challenge for the title at the pay-per-view. Aside from his loss to Orange Cassidy in the unsanctioned Lights Out match at AEW Dynamite: Beach Break, Cole is undefeated in singles action in AEW. He made his debut at AEW All Out 2021, and he has been the top-ranked contender to Page’s title for the last few weeks.

Meanwhile, Page won the gold when he defeated Kenny Omega at AEW Full Gear 2021. He has defended the title against Bryan Danielson (twice) and Lance Archer. Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, and Bobby Fish attacked Page this past week on AEW until the Dark Order made the save. On the February 18 episode of AEW Rampage, Cole defeated 10 of Dark Order to pick up even more momentum heading into the title bout.
