Report: WWE 205 Live Has Been Cancelled, Replaced By New NXT-Branded Series

WWE 205 Live is no more and it looks like WWE has plans to Level Up.

PWInsider is reporting WWE has canceled 205 Live and will immediately begin airing a new series in its place called “NXT: Level Up.” According to the report, WWE will tape NXT: Level Up at the WWE Performance Center ahead of Tuesday’s NXT Vengeance Day broadcast. The new show is expected to be 60 minutes long and it would likely air at 10 pm EST on Peacock/WWE Network after SmackDown.

WWE has not confirmed the change as of press time, but the company did recently apply to trademark NXT: Level Up on February 9. The report noted that the decision to change the show was made official this week, but moving away from 205 Live has been in the works for some time now.

WWE 205 Live premiered on November 29, 2016 on WWE Network and it primarily featured talent from the NXT and NXT UK brands and originally focused on the WWE Cruiserweight division. More recently, WWE began to phase out the weight limit originally in place for the show, and the Cruiserweight Championship was unified with the NXT North American Championship at New Year’s Evil on January 4.
