WrestleMania Backlash is returning.
On Friday, the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence (RI) announced that WWE would bring WrestleMania Backlash to town on Sunday, May 8.
Tickets for the Premium Live Event will go on sale to the public on Friday, February 18, with a pre-sale taking place on February 16 and 17. Fans can sign up for pre-sale information on the venue website at this link.
This event will mark the second year that the “WrestleMania Backlash” name will be used; last year the event was hosted on May 16, 2021 at the WWE ThunderDome at Yuengling Center. The Backlash name has been used as a WWE pay-per-view during two periods; the original event ran from 1999-2009 as a late-April event, and the name was revived and has been active since 2016.
WWE previously announced a PPV/premium live event for May 8, but the event theme was not announced at the time. An unnamed June 5 date still remains on the event calendar, and Money In The Bank and SummerSlam both have confirmed dates and venues. Survivor Series is also set to take place at the TD Garden in Boston on November 26.
