WWE Friday Night Smackdown Results

WWE SmackDown Viewership Dips, Demo Rating Also Drops On 2/4

WWE SmackDown viewership dipped on February 4.

According to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, 2.151 million viewers watched the show on Friday night, and SmackDown drew a 0.51 rating (667,000 viewers) in the 18 to 49 demographic. These numbers are down from last week, as 2.217 viewers tuned in on January 28, with a 0.56 rating in the same demo.

Thurston noted that coverage of the Winter Olympics opening ceremony dominated television on Friday, and SmackDown drew its lowest total and key demo viewership since the taped Christmas Eve episode.

This week’s episode featured Ronda Rousey officially picking her WrestleMania opponent, following her triumph in the Women’s Royal Rumble match. Plus, WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg returned to challenge Universal Champion Roman Reigns. Drew McIntyre was also back on the blue brand for the first time in recent weeks, as he had been sidelined with a neck injury prior to his return at WWE Royal Rumble.
