WWE Superstar Mustafa Ali took to social media this morning to officially request his release from the company. Ali has been with WWE for over 5 years, joining in 2016. WWE has not responded to the request as of this writing.
In a statement released by Ali, he said, “I have a message that is much bigger than my dreams in pro wrestling. Despite my best efforts, I will not be able to deliver this message while working with WWE. Therefore, I am requesting my release from WWE.”
Mustafa Ali was the leader of RETRIBUTION, a failed faction in WWE that did not gain any traction. He was also the man behind a hacker storyline, something that also failed to get any momentum. Most recently, he teamed with Mansoor which turned into a feud between the two.
Ali has not been seen in WWE since October 29, 2021 when he lost a match against Drew McIntyre.
