Former Dragon Gate star, and current GLEAT wrestler CIMA returned to New Japan Pro Wrestling on Tuesday, for a surprise appearance in the New Japan Ranbo battle royal that opened night one of Wrestle Kingdom 16. The former AJPW World Junior Heavyweight Champion was one of four men declared the winner, and will advance to a four way match on January 5th. It is CIMA’s first appearance in NJPW since 2009.

CIMA not only advanced to tomorrow’s four way match, he eliminated TAKA Michinoku, Master Wato, and NJPW legend Tatsumi Fujinami in the process. CIMA will face Toru Yano, Minoru Suzuki & Chase Owens on January 5th to determine the KOPW 2022 provisional title holder. CIMA wrestled in All Japan Pro Wresling just two days ago, and has recently been a staple of the GLEAT promotion.
