Tony Khan is going to be more careful with new roster additions in All Elite Wrestling, but he says the roster will still continue to grow.
All Elite Wrestling has seen a huge growth in both audience and superstars, but in a recent interview, All Elite Wrestling president Tony Khan said that the company has to be more discerning regarding its future additions.
“I do think I have to be more discerning than ever in talent acquisition because we have such a strong roster,” Khan said during a recent interview with TV Insider. “I was aggressively expanding with the launch of Rampage. We made some big signings in the past including CM Punk. Bryan Danielson, Adam Cole, Ruby Soho, Thunder Rosa, Kyle O’Reilly, Bobby Fish, Andrade El Idolo, Malakai Black. Christian Cage and many others.”
Despite his comments on being more selective with talent in the future, Khan did say that the roster will still grow.
“Yes. We will continue expanding the roster,” Khan said. “Absolutely, there will be more people coming into AEW.”
Tony Khan went on to mention that besides the big additions from the world of WWE, All Elite Wrestling has also dove into other companies for talent, but that it was time for the company to start being a bit more careful about signing talent.
“We’ve also continued our partnerships with great international companies like New Japan Pro Wrestling and Lucha Libre AAA. We have a lot of great talent working, but it’s time for me to be more discerning than ever in terms of acquisitions.”
