Hangman Page hopes ‘Final Battle’ wasn’t really the end for Ring Of Honor.
AEW World Champion Adam ‘Hangman’ Page recently appeared on Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette and would delve into this past weekend’s Ring Of Honor’s ‘Final Battle’ pay-per-view event. The company plans on going on hiatus until April 2022, and they will work towards a major shift in their product, presentation and roster. Despite planning on returning, there’s been speculation that ROH won’t be back, and Hangman said he hopes that’s not the case at all.
“I hope that it’s not the last Final Battle, not the true Final Battle. Not just for the name of the company, it’s something that I followed before I started wrestling,” Page explained, “and not even for all the people who right now have jobs there but for all wrestlers and wrestling fans. This works so much better, as you can tell with AEW and with our time in Ring Of Honor and New Japan as well, this works so much better when there’s more places to work. I hope whatever is going on with them, that they bounce back in whatever form that they can, as soon as they can.”
Page was a staple in ROH from 2011 to 2018, where he captured the company’s six-man tag titles alongside Matt and Nick Jackson of The Young Bucks as well as being named the company’s Breakout Star of The Year in 2017.
Hangman Page is set to defend his AEW World Heavyweight Championship against Bryan Danielson on Wednesday’s “Winter Is Coming” episode of AEW Dynamite.
