Ruby Soho and Kris Statlander faced off on the December 1 episode of AEW Dynamite, and a trip to the AEW TBS Championship Tournament semi-finals was on the line. In the end, Soho advanced and moved closer to the tournament finals.
The bout was a hard-fought battle from start to finish. After he dropped Statlander into the corner with a superkick, Soho began unloading on her with forearm smashes. She then dropped “The Galaxy’s Greatest Alien” with an incredible headscissors driver for a near fall. Soho wouldn’t be denied though, and she attempted to hit the No Future on opponent, but Statlander blocked it. AEW’s resident alien then tried to quickly end the bout by hitting the Big Bang Theory, but Soho was ready, as she reversed it with a quick pin for the win.

Following the match, Soho raised Statlander’s hand and celebrated with her in the ring for a moment before Vickie Guerrero subsequently argued with Statlander at the top of the ramp. Meanwhile, Nyla Rose quickly snuck into the ring, and ambushed Soho, her opponent in the semi-finals. Statlander ran back into the ring and chased Rose away.
After this tough match with Statlander, Soho will shift her focus to a major challenge in Rose, a former AEW Women’s World Champion who has absolutely dominated her way through the tournament. In the other semi-final bout, Jade Cargill will face Thunder Rosa, and the winners of these contests will eventually collide in a title match.
