During the November 26 episode of AEW Rampage, Riho shocked Britt Baker, as she took down the reigning AEW Women’s World Champion during a special Black Friday Deal Match to earn a shot at the title.
In a stunning victory, Riho survived a brutal attack from Baker from the very start. The champion looked set to dominate, and for a majority of the bout, she did; she threw her prospective challenger around the ring and stoped on the back of her head. Still, Riho survived long enough to flip the momentum, and she hit a huge suplex late in the match to gain some momentum.
After trash-talking back and forth, Riho avoided a stomp from Baker before she dropped her opponent with another suplex and nailed a double stomp off the top rope for a near fall. In the end, the former champion rolled up Baker for the win. With the victory, she has officially earned a shot at Baker’s AEW Women’s World Championship.
