The Watch List takes a look at what matches you should be watching while you’re at home and they come recommended by your favorite professional wrestling stars.
WrestleZone recently spoke with Mercedes Martinez, who touted her second-round match against Rachael Ellering at Knockouts Knockdown as one that shows who she is as a performer.
“When it comes to IMPACT, one that pretty much cements what I can bring to the table is the one with Rachael Ellering. She’s a talent that doesn’t get the credit that she deserves and I really do think she has a lot to bring to the table. Our match in the Knockouts Knockdown tournament was a match that really showcased everything that I can offer. It can show my technician side, my chain wrestling, the power moves, it just had all of the emotion and the drama in it. We respected each other when we went in there. There was a lot of respect, but by the end of the match it was just giving everything that we had and that pretty much let you know that hey, we never wrestled each other before but this was one of those matches that we wanted to showcase everything that we had.
“My job was to make sure that I came out of that match with a lot more respect and making sure that Rachael Ellering got the respect that she really, really deserves. Man, she put up one hell of a fight, I can tell you that, and I can’t wait to see big things happen with her. That right there has been my favorite match at IMPACT so far and that’s the match that if you haven’t seen me or heard of me before, you need to watch that match because that’s a storytelling match in its own right.”
