Bray Wyatt Working On Feature Film Debut For First Post-WWE Project

Fans continue to speculate about what the future holds for Windham Rotunda, formerly known as Bray Wyatt, in the wrestling world. WWE released the former Universal Champion on July 31. But his first venture following his departure has been confirmed, and it will take him outside of wrestling.

In an interview with Alistair McGeorge of Metro.co.uk, Callosum Studios owner Jason Baker, a friend of Rotunda’s, described how he has been collaborating with Rotunda on a feature film.

“He’s a phenomenal collaborator, he’s become a really good friend, and we’re actually – you’re the first person that we’re publicly telling about,” said Baker. We’re starting a film at the end of the month.”

Baker didn’t offer many specific details, though he noted that the film will begin filming in Tennessee in two weeks.

“Two weeks to go, we’re filming in Tennessee,” said Baker. “It’s a feature film and it’s something really new and different. I’d say probably the best way to describe it is Ichi the Killer meets Xanadu.”

Rotunda and Baker became friends when the latter was starring in WWE. As a special effects artist, Baker did some work for the company; he designed Triple H’s crown for WWE WrestleMania 30.

In the interview, Baker explained that he met with Rotunda a few times recently, and they’re subsequently moving forward with this project. But he cautioned fans who hope to see anything like The Fiend or Wyatt’s other WWE personas; instead, he teased that this horror film will be “a whole new thing.”

“We’re not using any of that – we’re going in a completely different direction, a whole new thing,” said Baker. “IIt should be fun. Hopefully fans of horror and fans of Windham like it!”

WrestleZone will provide more details as they become available.
