Franky Monet, also known as Taya Valkyrie, had her WWE run cut short when the company released her on November 4.
When WWE signed Valkyrie this past February, many fans expected the former IMPACT Knockouts Champion to hit the ground running and thrive in her new home. Instead, after just six matches with the company, she was included in a shocking group of cuts on Thursday.
Monet commented on her departure in a heartfelt Instagram post. She thanked WWE for the opportunity and expressed that she was “confused, hurt, sad and honestly mad” about her release. Monet also called this setback a “swerve”, but she vowed to persevere and prove that she has much more to give as a wrestler.
“Well that didn’t go as planned,” wrote Monet. “First and foremost I would like to thank @wwe for allowing me to live my dream, even if it was cut short. To say I am disappointed would be an understatement, I’m confused, hurt, sad and honestly mad. I came there as one of the top luchadoras of our era and honestly leaving there a little broken. I LOVED everyday when I got to go to work, being around the greatest minds in this business, getting to train in the BEST pro wrestling training facility in the world and see my friends everyday. I was completely enveloped in the industry.

I know who I am, I know what I’ve done and I know I have more to give. This is just another swerve in my journey that I didn’t expect but to be honest, my life has always been filled with those. Prior to her arrival in WWE, Valkyrie had a historic run as the IMPACT Knockoits Champion; she set a new record for the longest reign with the title. She also won the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship three times during her memorable run with Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide.
