MSK is enjoying a successful reign as the NXT Tag Team Champions, so they’re not concerned with some of the boos they’ve been getting recently. If anything, this response simply motivates them.
In an interview with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Nash Carter and Wes Lee discussed their current run on WWE NXT 2.0 and, when asked, they acknowledged the boos. Carter pointed out how even a star as successful as John Cena had to deal with more than his fair share of this reaction, so they’re not bothered by it. Instead, they’re focusing on the people who support them.
“We don’t want to control what people do, if they want to boo us, they want to boo us,” said Carter. “My favorite wrestler or sports entertainer of all time [is] John Cena. And look at him. How many boos did he get?”
“All of them,” Lee chimed in.
“Half and half,” Carter continued. “So it doesn’t really matter, man. If they want to boo, go ahead.”
Lee then made it clear that he and Carter have dealt with negativity throughout their careers, so getting booed isn’t new to them. He invited fans to boo if they want to because it won’t affect them or their mission to perform at the highest level.
“You can boo, we’ll still look at you and smile and have our fun because we’ve done it in the midst of negativity for the majority of our career,” said Lee. “So you looking in our face and booing at us is not gonna make it any different. We still have the people that support us, and we still go out here and do the things that we do, we love what we do, and we will continue to do what we love to do. So you can boo if you want to.”
