Sammy Guevara came into tonight’s AEW Dynamite with one mission, and that was to take down Miro and become the new AEW TNT Champion. He was ultimately successful in this quest, as he scored the upset win in the main event on Wednesday night.
The match was a stellar bout from the start, with “The Sexy Spanish God” trying to gain the upper hand early and “God’s Favorite Champion” using his power to shut the challenger down. Miro then dealt some heavy blows to his challenger. In one impressive highlight, he caught Guevara out of a shooting star press and slammed him with a belly-to-belly suplex.

Still, Guevara was undeterred after this barrage, and he persevered with a flurry of offense. The two stars continued to trade blows late in the match, and a nasty kick prompted Guevara to roll out of the ring to save himself.
Determind to finish his oppoent, Miro started pulling a turnbuckle pad off from the corner, causing Guevara’s friend Fuego del Sol to get involved from ringside. Guevara eventually got back into the ring and hit Miro with a tornado DDT in the ensuing chaos that sent the champion crashing into the exposed turnbuckle. With Miro stunned, Guevara hit a huge 630 Senton to pin and defeat Miro to become the new AEW TNT Champion.
After the match, Guevara accepted Bobby Fish’s challenge to a title match on next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. (Read more here.)
