Brody King and Malakai Black are the new PWG World Tag Team Champions.

Black returned to PWG at the Mystery Vortex 7 event in August, where he aligned with King and set up this match with Taurus and Flamita. The two teams waged war for the promotion’s tag titles, which had been vacant since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic; they had been held by The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz) since 2018, but the duo signed with WWE in December 2020 to conclude their title reign.
In the past, the titles have been held by teams like The Young Bucks, The Lucha Brothers, and Super Smash Brothers
During a recent appearance on Pro Wrestling 4 Life w/ Sean “X-Pac” Waltman, King, who currently works for ROH, stated that his partnership with Black, member of the AEW roster, is currently limited to PWG, though he’d be open to working with other promotions in the future.
“For the time being, I think it’s definitely exclusive to PWG, but I like to push the boundaries a little bit. Even if, I don’t know what’s allowed and what’s not — I just kinda play within the bounds that I’m given. But it’s really awesome to go to New Japan, to be able to work guys like the Good Brothers, so you have this like IMPACT, Ring of Honor, New Japan, AEW-thing and then the thing that me and Malakai are doing,” King explained, “we get to bend the rules a little bit without breaking them. But I would love for there to be some kind of quote-on quote-forbidden door opening to where we can all just go crazy and give the fans what they want.”
