Rhino will get to show IMPACT Wrestling just what the “holy waters of change” have done for him as he’ll be sticking around for a few more years.
According to PWInsider, former ECW and NWA World Champion Rhino has re-signed with IMPACT Wrestling.
Now a member of the ‘Violent By Design’ group, Rhino made his return to IMPACT in the summer of 2019 after departing WWE earlier that year. The 45-year old Michigan native made his TNA debut in 2005 and enjoyed a five-year run before departing in 2010. He was a staple of the independent scene until 2015 when he returned to WWE, where he won the SmackDown Tag Team Championship with Heath Slater.
Since returning to IMPACT, he won the “Call Your Shot Gauntlet” battle royal, which also resulted in an IMPACT Tag Team Championship with Violent By Design. When he first returned to the company, Rhino told Chris Jericho on his Talk Is Jericho podcast that he’d signed a two-year deal that began in 2019, so it would appear that the former NWA Champion re-upped on that original contract to extend his tenure with IMPACT.

Rhino spoke with WrestleZone earlier this year about the decision to join VBD, noting that it was quite simple because it’s a role he’s familiar with and it’s one that he enjoys.
“First and foremost, Eric Young is the leader. And if you look at my career, I work best when I’m someone’s ‘heater’,” Rhino explained. “Steve Corino [in ECW], Edge and Christian when I first came into WWE, when I first came to IMPACT Wrestling in 2005 [then TNA] I was with Jeff Jarrett as his heater. At the Bound For Glory pay-per-view in 2005, things all changed [Rhino beat Jarrett for the NWA World Championship],” he explained, “so my whole career, I show up and someone [I’m aligned with] runs his mouth, and I back them up. Not that Eric Young can’t back his mouth up, but I was just like, ‘Yeah, I dig this. Give me the holy waters of change, Eric. I’m ready.’”
