Count Franky Monet as one of the several Superstars who have publicly shared their excited about the relaunch of WWE NXT.
In an interview with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, ahead of the premiere of “NXT 2.0”, Monet described how the new version of the brand will look and feel different, but it’ll still be the same “outstanding television program.”
“I’m very excited about it,” said Monet. “I think that in the world of social media, nobody likes change and so people are instantly gonna get offended or annoyed by the color change or something that’s just so frivolous, in my opinion. This is a wonderful, outstanding television program that has literally been on the air for years, who’s proven day in, week in, week out that we’re the best, and this is just a new evolution of that.
“So you’re gonna see some fun colors, you’re gonna see a new arena [and] set-up, it’s just gonna have a different vibe. You’re still gonna get all the five-star matches, the grit, all these people that are just trying to leave their mark in the WWE Universe, and that’s what NXT is about. And nothing about that is gonna change. You’re gonna recognize a lot of people on the show, as well as meeting a lot of new people that are just really, really waiting to get that opportunity.”
Monet had been scheduled to challenge Raquel Gonzalez for the NXT Champonship on the launch of this new NXT, but the match has reportedly been pulled from the show. Regardless, in the interview, Monet made it clear that she fully intends to become a champion by the end of the year.
“My sights are set on Raquel Gonzalez, my sights are set on becoming champion for me, said Monet. ” So I want Franky Monet to be champion in 2021.”
